Watts, CA – Top Dawg Entertainment has teamed up with the Think Watts Foundation for a free food distribution event called Above and Beyond. The Watts public housing projects will be provided with healthy food options and nutritional education on Wednesday (June 10).
Several thousand boxes of Beyond Meat food products, fresh produce and cases of water will be donated to Watts residents living in Nickerson Gardens, Jordan Downs, Imperial Courts, Gonzaque Village and Avalon Gardens. TDE and the Think Watts Foundation are scheduled to begin their day in the Jordan Downs community before wrapping up at Nickerson Gardens.
TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith and Think Watts founder Brandon “Stix” Salaam-Bailey grew up in the Los Angeles neighborhood. In April, Tiffith paid the rent for 311 families in Watts’ public housing amid stay-at-home orders prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Above and Beyond is sponsored by Beyond Meat, The Harold Robinson Foundation and the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles. Additional sponsors include Aqua Equity, Community Healing Gardens, GodissLove and Primestor.
