Brandon Hoover says he's feeling better, but urges fans to stay safe.

Brandon Hoover, guitarist for metalcore band Crown the Empire, says that he’s tested positive for the coronavirus and is currently at home under self-quarantine.

“Welp…I tested positive for the Coronavirus. I’ve been told to self-quarantine for 14 days (or until further notice). I believe I contracted it through traveling to all these different countries over the past couple of months, but honestly who the f–k knows, it could of happened anywhere,” Hoover tweeted on Monday (March 16).

The guitarist said he started getting a sore throat, congestion and fatigue about a week ago and then quickly developed severe body aches and a 102 degree fever. “I was in bed for a couple of days sleeping in puddles of my own sweat. Honestly I thought I just had the flu!,” he wrote. “So I went to the emergency room and got tested for that as well as the Coronavirus and got my results back last night confirming that I have it.

“Currently I feel back to normal and most of the symptoms have passed. If anything changes I’ll let y’all know. I advise everyone to keep yourselves informed, stay isolated, drink lots of water and wash your hands! I love you all. Please stay safe out there.”

A spokesperson for the band’s label, Rise Records, could not be reached for additional comment at press time.

Hoover is the latest celeb to announce a positive diagnosis for the COVID-19 virus, which has lead to a national emergency declaration from Pres. Trump, who suggested Americans should stay home and not gather in groups of 10 or more.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been released from an Australian hospital after receiving a positive diagnosis, Universal Music Group Chairman/CEO Lucian Grainge is currently in hospital receiving treatment, and Cats star Idris Elba revealed on Monday that he has tested positive.

The novel coronavirus has infected more than 186,000 across the globe and caused more than 7,400 deaths to date.
