Manchester-based trio Pins want their fans to know that this song is for the girls — especially the bad ones.
In the group’s latest single “Bad Girls Forever,” premiering exclusively on Billboard today (Feb. 20), Pins give listeners a raucously delicious and danceable anthem for bad girls, female empowerment, and unity, along with an infectious chorus that is impossible to not spell along with.
“G-o-o-d girls go to heaven / b-a-d girls are forever,” singer/guitarist Faith Vern chants over the synth-heavy beat of the Rich Woodcraft-produced track. “L-o-v-e it is easy / I’ve got you and you’ve got me.”
Speaking of the song, Vern tells Billboard, “It’s about being unified, part of something together. Guys can feel it, too. Every time someone speaks to me about music, they ask me about being a woman. Well, this is it. This is how I feel about being a woman.“
“There are still some girls who are frightened at shows and don’t come out,” she adds. “They’re not confident enough to be on stage. It’s our job to make them feel like they should be. The song’s just for the girls.”
“Bad Girls Forever” is the follow-up to the band’s hypnotic song “Hot Slick,” which dropped last week and was produced by The Kills’ Jamie Hince. Both tracks are available via the band’s self-released label Haus Of Pins.
