After dropping f three new songs in celebration his Free 6LACK one-year anniversary last November, 6LACK finally rolled out his first single the new year on Tuesday (Feb. 13) and he's dedicating it to the those spending Valentine's Day alone.

“if you have a valentine good for you, if you don’t this for you –] ✂️],” he wrote on his social accounts announcing his new song “Cutting Ties.” 6LACK's chilled-out voice floats over the emotive, atmospheric arrangement as eerie synths linger in the background.

On “Cutting Ties,” 6LACK sabotages his relationship because he'd rather be alone and admits that he's made a habit ending his relationships. “I don't wanna make it look like I ran away/ You could do better than I/ Something you need to know, you gotta let go/ You throwing a fit and that's old,” he sings.

6LACK recently teamed up with Timbaland for “Grab The Wheel” last December. Earlier in January, he posted an image on Instagram with the succinct caption, “album mode” suggesting that a full-length project could be arriving very soon.
