Last year, Toronto punks PUP revealed that they had started work on the follow-up to 2016’s excellent The Dream Is Over, and now they’ve announced that it’s pretty much done.

The group shared an update social media last night (May 23), saying that they’re done tracking their third album.

It was recorded at Union Sound Company in Toronto with Dave Schiffman (who produced The Dream Is Over and 2013’s PUP) and Darren McGill.

We finished tracking LP3 today. Thanks so much to @unionsoundco (Toronto’s best studio), Dave Schiffman and Darren McGill for all of their hard work over these many many weeks pic.twitter.com/X743UeI8Wu

For some further insight into the new material, frontman Stefan Babcock has shared some shots of his notebook from the course of making the latest record — which basically serves as a hand-drawn documentation of drummer Zack Mykula recording and re-recording snare drums.

Check that out below.
