After recently sharing two songs from her upcoming fourth studio album, Coeur de pirate has now announced a Canadian tour in support of En cas de tempête, ce jardin sera fermé.

Béatrice Martin will take her musical project out on the road this summer, playing a series of dates primarily in her native Quebec, as well as a concert in Toronto. There are also a few dates over in Europe and the U.S., with the schedule stretching into 2019.

You can see all the upcoming dates below.

As for En cas de tempête, ce jardin sera fermé, the album runs 10 tracks in length and features a collaboration with Quebecois rapper Loud, who appears on a track titled “Dans la nuit.”

Sonically, the album is said to be “tinged with nostalgia for the ‘French touch’ sound” through its references of disco and dance-pop set against lyrics exploring toxic relationships, self-destructive habits, turbulent love affairs and marital rape.

The album title, En cas de tempête, ce jardin sera fermé (“During storms, this garden will be closed”), came to Martin while in Paris.

“I was in the middle of an anxiety attack in the streets of Paris when I saw that sentence on a small sign on a garden’s entrance,” she explained in a press release. “It really resonated with what I was experiencing, and it stayed with me.”

As Martin recently told Exclaim!, the album is both one of artistic and personal rediscovery. You can read our entire conversation here.
